I am Renetta Mathews, a Chicago State University Alum. I have earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 4 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I have previous experience teaching all subjects for 3rd grade and math for 5th and 6th grades. I regularly attend professional developments to acquire additional strategies and seek the most effective ones for a variety of students. I assign homework nightly in order to reinforce the development of skills practiced during the day.
During this time, of the COVID-19 crisis, I have transitioned my class to an online format. My students and I will now heavily rely on Google Classroom, Google Meet and Google Chat. I have also included the links to several beneficial websites that we'll be utilizing in the Links Bar located in the top left hand corner of this page.
I believe in communicating with families. I utilize ClassDojo as my main source of communication. I can send messages and pictures through this site as well as receive them. I also upload additional strategies, anchor charts and or videos to ClassDojo.
