Lunchroom Procedures and Rules

Classroom teachers are requested to take students to the
washroom before the lunch period. Students should wash
their hands before eating.
- Classroom teachers must escort students to the lunch area
and wait for those students to be seated in their assigned
area.
- Students are to remain in their seats until the teacher on
duty indicates that they should enter the serving line.
- All students entering the serving line must be in the room
that is being served at that time.
- Students must remain in their seats at their assigned table
until dismissed, or until they are given permission to
leave their table by the teacher on duty.
- Students seeking permission to leave their seats must raise
their hands and wait for the teacher to approach them and/
or give permission.
- All students are responsible for the appearance of the
lunchroom facility. Students should leave their lunchroom
table area as clean or cleaner than when they arrived.
- Students are responsible for adherence to all rules listed
above, and any other rules common to their particular
lunch area. Students should be reminded that they are still
in school and in an learning environment. They should
bring a book to lunch.
- Each commons area will observe a moment of silence, the
last five minutes of the lunch period, in preparation for
their return to a learning environment.
- Lunchroom behavior reports sent home for infractions
should be signed and returned the next day.
- Classroom teachers must pick up their classes on time
(11:20 a.m.-1st teacher break and 12:00 Noon-2nd
teacher break).
