State law mandates that students attend school regularly. Parents can be held legally responsible for not sending their children to school and on time.
Regular attendance is a necessity in pursuing excellence in education. Students should not be kept home except in cases of illness or family emergencies.
A note from a parent/guardian is due in the following instances:
Tardiness to school
Absence from school
The note should state the date of the tardiness or absence, the reason and the signature of the parent or guardian. The note should be given to the teacher upon returning to school.
